Shabby Chair Shelf

I have seen this done before and could NOT resist doing one! I had bought this broken chair for 50 cents at a yard sale.

Since it had been broken the tape had to come off then My Dad and I measured to see hao wide we wanted the shelf. The used a hack saw to remove the excess. Then reattatched the fromt scrolly piece to the front of the shelf then added the seat back on.

Then a couple of coats of paint and distress also adding a scrolly piece to the back for some extra detail.

This is your end result something affordable and unique! Hope you like it!

My Shabby Wash Stand Redo

This is what I started with it was a 15.00 find. I loved the detail and the original white and green paint. I saw potential in it from the moment I laid eyes on it. The door I removed and it was actually what I used to make my teacher appreciation sign from my last post. My Dad worked on this project with me doing all of the cutting and helping with the paint. I removed the door and drawer. Then the drawer beam.

Now I have a beautiful piece that I treasure and the memories of repurposing it with my amazing Dad!

Hope you enjoyed this! Have a great week!

Shabby Personalized Teacher Door Hanger

Teacher appreciation week at my daughter's school so I decided since she loves antiques why not craft her up something Shabby! So here it is!
Here is the tutorial of how to make this.
These are the items you will need
I took the door off of an antique wash stand but you could use any piece of wood. I then took and added two screws one on each side(on the back) Then took some wire and wrapped around each nail leaving some wire at the top. Then you take and cut the lace and fabric into 7 inch strips. Then alternate the lace and fabric just tieing it into knots over the wire. Then you take scrabble tiles or you can purchase letter tiles from your local craft store. Then personalize with E-6000 glue. Add some lace and other details. I added a skeleton key and crystal door knob. Then you are all set!
Hope you enjoy this fun way to make shabby goodness!
